From idea to sold-out, step by step.

1
Craft Your Listing

Write a Title People Can't Scroll Past ✨

Your listing is your first impression — and 80% of discovery decisions are made in under 3 seconds. A great title communicates the vibe, the occasion, and the emotion all at once.

Writing Formula That Works Use: [Emotion] + [Activity] + [Location/Context]. Example: "The Rooftop Jazz Night Nairobi's Been Waiting For" performs 3× better than "Jazz Event Westlands."
Write to One Person, Not a Crowd Use "you" and "your" in descriptions. "You'll dance until you forget the week existed" beats "Attendees will enjoy live performances."
  • Keep your title under 70 characters — it shows fully in search results
  • Include the neighbourhood or venue name for local SEO
  • Add the vibe category: Chill / Hype / Cultural / Professional
  • Mention the headliner or key attraction in the first sentence of your description

Set the Visual Stage

Visuals That Make People Stop Scrolling 📸

Events with a high-quality banner get 2.5× more clicks than those without. Your cover image is your biggest marketing asset — treat it like a billboard, not an afterthought.

The Golden Shot Bright outdoor light or vivid indoor colour performs best on feeds. Show real people having genuine fun — smiling crowds outperform empty venues every single time.
Optimal Dimensions Upload at 1920×1080px (16:9) minimum. The platform auto-optimises for mobile, but high resolution prevents blurring on large screens. PNG or high-quality JPG only.
  • Avoid text-heavy flyers — they compress poorly on mobile
  • If using a designed flyer, ensure the date & name are legible at thumbnail size
  • Include secondary images in the gallery — 3+ images increase engagement by 60%
  • Brand your images consistently if you host multiple events

Set Up Ticketing Right

Price Smart. Sell Out Fast. 🎟️

Ticket strategy is where most organizers leave money on the table — or, worse, scare away their audience. Getting pricing right means understanding your audience, your costs, and the psychology of perceived value.

The 3-Tier Pricing Strategy Early Bird → Regular → Door Price. Early bird creates urgency. Door price rewards early commitment. Aim for 40% of revenue from early bird sales.
Always Publish Your Refund Policy Events with a clear refund policy sell 30% more tickets. Even a simple "No refunds but transfers allowed" builds trust significantly.
  • Set a clear capacity limit — scarcity drives urgency
  • Offer a group/table booking discount for 4+ tickets
  • Include everything in the ticket price (parking, welcome drink) when possible
  • Accept M-Pesa, card, and bank transfer — every payment method you don't accept is a lost sale

Day-Of & After

Deliver the Experience & Build Loyalty 🏆

The event itself is your product — but what happens after is what builds your reputation. Organizers who get 5-star reviews and repeat attendees always do these things.

The 30-Minute Rule Send your attendees a WhatsApp or in-app message 30 minutes before doors open with parking info, entrance instructions, and what to expect. It reduces confusion and sets a professional tone immediately.
Ask for Reviews — Nicely 24 hours after the event, post a thank-you on your profile and ask attendees to leave an honest review. Reviews compound — each one improves your ranking in our discovery algorithm.
  • Post event-day updates on your profile ("Doors now open!") — it drives walk-ins
  • Photograph the crowd and tag Outing360 — we share the best ones
  • Add your next event to your profile before this one ends — capture warm interest
  • Message attendees 2 weeks later with early access to your next event

Pro Tips From Top Outing360 Organizers

Advice gathered from our highest-rated organizers — people who consistently sell out and earn 5-star reviews.

Publish at Least 3 Weeks Out

Events published 21+ days before the date have 70% higher attendance. People need time to plan, especially for weekend events competing with other commitments.

Respond to Every Review

Even a simple "Thank you for coming — see you at the next one!" shows professionalism. Organizers who respond to 80%+ of reviews average 0.4 stars higher overall.

Create FOMO Deliberately

Post "Only 20 tickets left!" updates when you hit 80% capacity. Scarcity is real — let people know. It consistently drives a last-minute surge of sales in the final 48 hours.

Cross-Promote With Other Organizers

Find organizers with complementary audiences and share each other's events on your profiles. Nairobi's event community is collaborative — mutual promotion costs nothing and expands both audiences.

Organizer FAQs.

How long does event approval take?
Most events are reviewed and approved within 2–6 hours on business days. Complex events with age restrictions or special permits may take up to 24 hours. You'll receive a notification once your event goes live. To speed up approval, ensure your listing is complete with all required fields filled in.
Can I edit my event after publishing?
Yes — you can edit most fields after publishing, including description, images, FAQ, and ticket tiers. Changes to the event date, venue, or major lineup changes will re-trigger a review. If you make significant changes, we recommend posting an update on your profile and notifying ticket holders directly to avoid confusion.
What happens if I need to cancel my event?
Cancellations must be submitted through your dashboard. You are required to notify all ticket holders immediately and process refunds within 7 business days if tickets were sold through Outing360-managed payments. Repeated cancellations without proper notice or refunds will result in your account being reviewed and potentially suspended.
How do I get the verified organizer badge?
Verification is available to organizers who have hosted at least 2 successfully completed events with an average rating of 4.0 or higher, and have a fully completed organizer profile. Apply through your dashboard under "Profile → Request Verification." Our team reviews applications within 5 business days. Verified organizers get priority placement in search results and access to promotional tools.
Does Outing360 handle ticket payments?
Outing360 provides tools for you to link your ticketing platform (M-Pesa Paybill, card payment processors, etc.) and display ticket availability. Direct payment processing integration with our platform is currently in development. For now, you manage payments externally but can track registrations and interest through your dashboard.
Can I host events outside Nairobi?
Absolutely — Outing360 is live across all 47 counties in Kenya. Events in Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, and beyond are all listed and discoverable. Enter your venue address correctly and the platform will automatically display it in the relevant regional discovery feed for that county.
